About Us CUMCO Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered credit union. It was founded in 1938 as the Cumberland Teachers Federal Credit Union to serve employees of the Cumberland County School Districts and their families. We have come a long way since then with two offices in Cumberland County and through the Shared Branching Network; we can serve members all over the country.

CUMCO FCU is democratically controlled and provides members with a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates. As a financial cooperative, members pool their funds to make loans for one another. The volunteer board governs the credit union and is elected by the members. Not for profit, not for charity, but for service is the credit union motto.
